First Aid Response (FAR) Training – PHECC Accredited


MIDAS Group in conjunction with Hillcrest Training are delivering a PHECC recognised FAR First
Aid Responder training course. On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Display skills related to the delivery of a first aid response
  • Assist in the recovery of people suffering medical emergencies
  • Provide adequate cover before emergency services arrive
  • Provide first aid in the workplace and other environments
Who is this Course for

People who wish to become certified first aiders in the workplace. This course is a prerequisite for individuals looking to continue on to become a paramedic and the current HSE recognised qualification for those looking at working in the caring professions, i.e. healthcare, childcare etc.

Who are First Aid Responders?

A first aid responder may be a healthcare practitioner or a member of the public who has undertaken a First Aid Response course. The first aid responder will be taught how to assess and manage patients in accordance with the PHECC FAR standard and clinical practice guidelines (CPGs).

Course Duration

The course will take no less than 18 teaching contact hours (averaging 6 hours per day), but can also be delivered on a modular basis.

      • A Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response Certificate – valid for 2 years
      • A recognised Institution FAR Card
      • Learners can progress on to PHECC FAR Instructor level or paramedics should they choose to take this up within their career choice
